The Black Box
The Black Box is an easily-constructed, compelling demonstration that introduces students to the power of scientific models. Students make observations by pulling the ropes and are challenged to create a model that explains how the ropes might be connected inside. Students are then invited to modify or replace their models if they do not explain all observations.
