Question-asking is a fundamental part of the scientific process, and some of the most profound discoveries have come from seemingly simple questions. This activity, designed to develop thinking and inquiry skills, has students examine a variety of objects and generate questions about them. In doing this, students also hone their skills of observation and inference. This versatile lesson could be used as a unit starter, an ice breaker, or a consolidation activity.
